Rev. Edwin Lam

Rev. Edwin Lam, a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, USA and Regent College, Vancouver, Canada is the Senior Pastor, New Life Baptist Church (NLBC). He has an active local and global Preaching, Leadership, Evangelistic and Missions ministry. Prior to joining NLBC, he was the Senior Pastor, Calvary Baptist Church for 13 years. Before that, for a number of years, the Lead Pastor of Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church.

He provides leadership as President of the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation, Executive Council Member, Baptist World Alliance; Chairman, Interserve Singapore; Board member, Baptist Theological Seminary; Director, Transforming Life in Communities and Board Member of C3 (a VWO).

Married to Gillian, the Lams have two adult children: Judith and Julia. Rev. Lam besides having written articles in four books, magazines and devotionals also authored “Changing Destinies–Living with a Passionate Vision.” His second book “Delighting in the Presence of the Almighty” will be released soon.

Pastor Philip Huan

Rev. Dr. Philip Huan

Rev. Dr. Philip Huan has been a pastor since 1997 in the arenas of Worship, Cells Oversight, Family-Life, Leadership Development and as Senior Pastor.

He has also taught on Leadership & Preaching in Singapore Bible College, Trinity Theological College and TCA College. Passionate for preaching from the start of his ministry, Philip has preached in church camps, weekend services, in Mission schools as chaplain, in evangelistic settings, and Marketplace devotions and trainings.

He holds a Masters of Divinity (Trinity Theological College) and a Doctorate of Ministry (Asbury Theological Seminary), and has authored 2 books titled, “Enduring Church Growth—Issues on Discipleship, Leadership & Followership” (Armour Publishing) and “Navigating Pull-Back Effects—leading growing Churches amidst Cultural Resistance” (Word Editions).

His wife, Jenni, previously served as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church. She currently devotes most of her time to the family while being a published author, and regularly writing for Christian publications and forums. They have 2 children, Abigayle (born 2000) and Keith (born 2005).

Rev. Paul Tong

Rev Paul Tong accepted Christ in 1980 and completed his Bachelor of Theology at Singapore Bible College in 1990, and Master of Divinity at Biblical Graduate School of Theology in 2002. He continued his study at Singapore Bible College and completed his Master of Theology in 2006.

Rev Paul Tong has served the Lord in different fields for over 30 years: He served as a pastor of Bethany Evangelical Free Church (July, 1990 to Jun, 1992), a staff-worker/the staff-representative of Chinese Department of Fellowship of Evangelical Students (July, 1992 to Jun, 1999), the executive director of Chinese Ministry of Wycliffe Bible Translators (Jan, 2002 to Jun, 2009), a full-time lecturer (July, 2009 to Dec, 2012) and a part-time lecturer (Jan, 2013 to Nov 2013) of Baptist Theological Seminary, and an adjunct lecturer of Theological Centre for Asia (2013-2017) and of Biblical Graduate School of Theology (2014-2019), and a full-time pastor of Evangelize China Fellowship, Holy Word (Nov, 2013 – Jun, 2020).

Rev Paul Tong joined NLBC in July, 2020. The Old Testament is his pet topic and he is passionate about training up disciples with skill and passion of doing evangelism. Rev Paul Tong is happily married to Wan Seng, a fellow pastor of Presbyterian Church, and together they have a grown up daughter. Rev Paul Tong reads, swims and jogs for leisure, so you’re welcomed to challenge him to a 5-km run any day.

Pastor Roger Ong

Roger Ong is married with three lovely children.

He holds a Bachelor in Theology from Trinity Theological College, Master in Social Science (Counseling) and most recently, he was conferred with a Master in Non-Profits Management by Singapore University of Social Science.

He served as Registered Counsellor with a Family Service Centre in Woodlands, was a Mission School’s Assistant Chaplain and before joining us, he spent more than nine years helping a community service arm of a local church.  He pioneered their youth programmes and together with his team of youth workers, they ran social-emotional programme that help students build resilience in more than fifteen secondary schools.

Roger has been a Volunteer Probation Officer under the Ministry of Social and Family Development since 1992.  He befriends, counsels and assists the probationers to make right choices. He visits the Singapore Boys’ Home to provide counselling to these young offenders as well.

He is trained with Focus on the Family as a certified Parenting with Confidence (PwC) Facilitator, a DISC Behavioral Analyze with the Institute of Motivational Learning and certified as qualified practitioner for the Management of Family Violence Mandatory Counseling Programme under the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
