Drawing from her personal experiences, the speaker aims to share with participants a brief overiew of the secondary school curriculum and the role the adult caregivers could play in support of the teenagers. The talk will cover areas including selection of a secondary school, DSA, transition from primary to secondary school, anticipated changes in teenagers and suggested tips for caregivers to guide their children. This session is targeted at parents of guardians with children at upper primary or lower secondary or anyone else with an interest to mentor young people.

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER Ms. So M Y started her career as a Mathematics and English Language teacher before taking on the role of Head of Department overseeing Pastoral Care, Character Development and Partnerships. She is currently a school administrator in a local secondary school, having served in schools with different profiles of students. She holds a master’s degree in education. With more than 25 years of experience, she remains passionate about helping her students find joy and relevance in learning
